Hibiscus Tea
Hibiscus Tea
Hibiscus (aka Hibiscus Sabdarriffa), is a tropical flowering plant with a tart flavor similar to that of cranberries and can be enjoyed both hot and cold. Traditionally used in African countries, it has shown to decrease body temperature, treat heart disease and sooth a sore throat. Because hibiscus tea encourages healthy blood pressure, it can also be beneficial for the management of type 2 diabetes. Hibiscus tea was found to be both hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic, meaning that it lowers blood-sugar levels and lipid levels in the blood, helping to prevent clogged arteries and lower risk of heart disease. Be sure to consult your physician before you begin supplementing if you have diabetes.
